MORNING SESSION – Crafting Successful Executive Presentations:

Being invited to pitch an idea, initiative, or business improvement to senior executives can be both a blessing and a curse.  On the upside, it gives the opportunity to showcase expertise before individuals who have great influence on promotions and strategic decision making within an organization.  On the downside, a poor presentation can cast a negative shadow over the perception of someone's capability.

This workshop will help attendees represent information more effectively at the senior level, improving corporate decision making, and earning the executives’ attention and support.

Fundamentally senior executive presentations are different!  The executive meeting room is all about raw decision making.  Your normal approach for delivering presentations will need to be turned on its head.  Brevity is key and be prepared to be challenged or interrupted!

During the workshop, participants will learn and practice a 7-step presentation design process that guides preparation and sets the attendees up for success.  The class will cover the importance of providing a summary up front and setting expectations with the executive audience.  The class will also identify strategies for avoiding and addressing challenges that may arise during the presentation. Instructional methods include:  Individual Exercise, Group Exercise, Simulations, and Role Playing.

At the conclusion of the workshop, participants should be able describe how executive presentations are nearly opposite the ordinary experience, describe how to transform ordinary presentations into powerful decision-making tools, and identify strategies for avoiding and addressing challenges during a presentation.

AFTERNOON SESSION – Mitigating Risk in Everyday Projects:

Whether we address it or not, we deal with risk every day.  But how much time do we really spend reviewing and mitigating risks on our projects?

This is a risk-focused training course centered on team-based, interactive project management discussions.  During the workshop, participants will be engaged in learning and exercising key project management methods as they work through real-world project scenarios using a business simulation game.

Learning components are utilized to inspire open conversations and dialogue.  The training examines how risk can affect representative project management topics, as well as potential solutions.  Participants will review both simple and extreme project details that can range from highly impactive to catastrophic.

At the conclusion of the class, learners will be able to identify strategies for mitigating project risk and will understand the importance of proper alignment across stakeholders to reduce risk factors.  Carefully mitigating risk is, in the end, how we determine a project’s destiny!
